How to install spurge
There is, as yet, no .rpm or .deb installer. However, there's a friendly installation script that should do the job for you.
These instructions have only been tested with Debian Linux. I'd appreciate feedback as to what does or doesn't work on other systems.
- Ensure you have a reasonably recent version of Python installed.
- Download the latest version of spurge, and unpack it.
- Go into the directory that's been created, go root, and type make install. (You did check the makefile and installation script when I told you to do that, didn't you? Good. :) )
- If it says everything worked, you're ready for testing. If not, have a go at fixing it, or mail me the output of make install and we'll have a go at fixing both your installation and these instructions.
